To be a kid again... Alright, I wouldn't do it. But every October sure felt great rummaging through the costume aisle of department stores...'what to be...what to be'. As an adult, I've fortunately found as much joy in dressing up for the occasion but when it comes time to doing my hair; unless it's completely covered I'm always in need of suggestions.
Medieval hairstyles styles can be gorgeous if done well. Though I'm obviously not from that era myself, I still appreciate the look and sport it occasionally beyond Halloween by braiding my fringe from one side of the hairline to the other. Sienna Miller's hairstyle is the perfect example of medieval costuming. Loosely falling beneath her braid are strands of hair that add a romantic touch to this look. If you love it as much as I do but your hair is too short, have no fear my fair ladies-hair extensions and actual braided hair pieces can be found at various wig shops for various textures and colors alike.
Back in the 80's whoever would have thought one would try to dress up like someone FROM the 80's nearly 3 decades later. Paula Abdul's hairstyle is beyond large but in that era, everything fashionably bigger was considered better from the shoulder pads, to eye glasses to the blue shadow; everyone wanted to get noticed...or had no sense of style whatsoever. Paula's retro hairstyle is a great blast from the past and grouped with oversized earrings, fluorescent anything and jelly bracelets, you'll be doing the moonwalk in no time...Ahhh, the 80's- thank God they're over!
I can't tell you how many times I've been a punk rocker' for Halloween; it was the inevitable never let me down before' costume I'd always whip together last minute when I had no clue what I wanted to be! It was also the one day I actually had the guts to be funky, wild and free with no need to explain myself for it. If Pink was around back in my punk' costume days, I'd have used her as my muse. She has a way of making nearly every hairstyle look great; undoubtedly due to her carefree attitude. Sporting what appears to be a hair piece' Mohawk, Pink goes punk long after Halloween is over. Taking inspiration from her funky look, why not grab a banana clip and fake the funk by scraping hair up from the sides to the middle and securing it with ultra holding hairspray. You wouldn't complete your look if you didn't add color. This Halloween, explore and experiment with different hairstyles to spruce up your costume. Consider it the only day of the year people won't think you're entirely crazy! Find more creative Halloween hairstyles at Hairstylesdesign.com.
