You Can Toss Out Your Tweezers With This New Trend
First, it was pin thin brows that graced the faces of women across north America. Years later, in a Brooke Shields'esque throwback, the bushy brow proved that bigger really is better. But today, the absence of eyebrows all together, be it with bleach or with makeup, has got just about everyone (yes, we're going to do it...) raising an eyebrow.
A
serious trend developing in beauty is the blanking out or disguising of
eye brows. Women are deciding to either bleach them our, or shave them
off. The look was first spotted on the runways in fall 2009.
A year
later, the look has gone from catwalk to sidewalk, as many style savvy
women are opting to go sans brows. Models like Iris Strubegger andLara Stone have been spotted in ad campaigns rocking the hairless look,
and now even Marion Cotillard will sport the style on the cover of
French Vouge (above).
And, apparently, the French are quite fond of this look overall. Givenchy shot an
entire campaign featuring dozens of models, both men and women, at a French chateau, posing in all of their browless glory. Oh,
to be beautiful.
But before you get those razors out, be sure that
this look is for you, because growing it out won`t be pleasant. After
all, forehead stubble doesn`t exactly scream stylish.
