Are Fergie's Nails Trend "On Point" or Just Plain Ugly?

Only last year, short, well manicured nails a la Lauren Conrad were the only way to go.

With short nails, it was easy to type, text and apply your makeup without misspelling, using T9, or losing an eye.

But now, a new trend in nail shape has been popping up everywhere - or at least in Hollywood. They're calling them Stiletto Nails - they're long, pointed nails that are worn painted, never bare.

Many celebs have been rocking this new look. Fergie (shown here with a nude coat), Rhianna, and Katy Perry are just a few of the tabloid's finest to have been spotted sporting this cat-like nail style.

We can imagine that the maintenance on this look is pretty hard to keep up with. There would be a lot of filing required in order to keep this look tidy, and pretty.

We're not sure what we think of this style just yet. It's a little witchy for our taste. Although, I guess it is the season...?
