You won't even recall the body trauma of the day before. Choosing a spa hotel from the brochures can be tricky because they all look rather similar - lots of soft focus photos with close-ups of orchids floating in the same old zen-like pools. So it's a pleasant surprise to arrive at Silver Rain Spa and feel you've finally found what I'd been looking for. That something special, that rare emotional connection with a place of healing and wellbeing. It only takes one mere step into the reception area to see this spa is the real deal. Silver Rain's foyer is the most striking opening statement I've seen at a spa in a long time. It's a silver jewel box of a high design space, and as I get further into the foyer I muse to myself, "This is Where Goddesses are Born." Past reception and into the women's lounge, the stylish design overture to luxury and pleasure continues. The design sets the psychological stage for a spa menu based on scientific innovation and botanical intelligence. As mentioned, Silver Rain features one of my favourite high-end skincare lines, La Prairie. The Ritz Carlton Cayman Island is set in one of the most stunning spot on the island. Even if you didn't go near the spa, just sitting on your balcony listening to the sound of the ocean and breathing the air would make you feel relaxed. altLeave the office, the kids behind and unwind and let expert hands take your cares from your shoulders, while they untie the knots that executive life ties so well. Highly Recommended: Topping off the La Prairie Caviar Massage with the synergistic Caviar Facial. Soothing, stimulating hands massage first your feetrelieving aches, pains, tensions. Then your hands releasing the stresses and strains of life's daily push and pull. This luxurious massage is enhanced with the benefits of Skin Caviar to nourish and energize. When the facial was over, my skin felt unspeakably soft, taut and spectacularly moist. Silver Rain is 20,000 square feet of beautiful sanctuary - a brilliant and seductive world of wellbeing. From the literal river that runs under the glass floor in the crystalline lobby to the smell of Silver Rain perfume infusing the air, this place is pure bliss. Every last detail has been attended to, reflecting the US million spent on it. The ambiance is calm and luxurious. The clientele is never rushed or rallied. The spacious treatment rooms, all in crystal blues and silver, have names like Sea Lily. After treatments you return to the Silver Haven, the waiting area, which is more like a crystallized "adult" crib with its fur-covered walls, deep carpeting and comfy day beds, for more lounging or reading. This clever draping allows you to separate your "nesting" area off for greater privacy. A lovely buffet off fresh fruit and pastry is set out in Silver Haven. Speciality teas and drinks welcome you out of your spa-induced coma. After my last treatment was finished I was presented with a mini bottle of Moet, an excellent idea. Not a surprise of course, as two of the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman's five restaurants were created by the chef Eric Ripert of New York's celebrated Le Bernardin.
