It's a sad summer for Harry Potter fans, who must say goodbye to
Harry, Ron and Hermione this July when the final film, Harry Potter and
the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, hits theaters. The eighth installment in
the film series marks the end of an era for fans of Hogwarts, many of
whom have been following Harry's adventures for more than a decade since
the first book was released in 1997.
But will it truly be the end of the Harry Potter franchise?
Fans already know that they can get their fix of Potter paraphernalia at Orlando, Florida's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a theme park based on the series that lets guests explore Hogwarts, visit Hogsmeade, drink butterbeer and purchase their own robes and wands. J.K. Rowling, the books' author, also recently announced the release of an online gaming experience called Pottermore - and now she says she's not ruling out the possibility of writing more about Harry and his friends.
The British author had previously said that Deathly Hallows would be the absolute final book of the series, but in an interview at the new film's London premier, Jo was a little more open-minded about Harry's future, according to the Daily Fill.
"It's my baby and if I want to take it out and play, then maybe one day I will," she said.
We can only hope!
