Wedding dresses: sexy versus modest

altAt least one columnist thinks she knows exactly what Kate Middleton should wear when she weds Prince William this weekend - something modest, according to Bonnie Fuller's recent column. The president and editor-in-chief of HollywoodLife.com implores the princess-to-be to pick something demure over something sexy for her April 29 nuptials.

Fuller writes that she's " keeping [her] fingers crossed that Kate Middleton follows the example of the most famous bride of all time, her mother-in-law, Diana. Diana's wedding gown, worn when she married Prince Charles at St. Paul's Cathedral on July 29, 1981, was jaw-droppingly gorgeous, completely original and also royally modest."

Of course, Kate's being held to a slightly higher standard that most other brides - her nuptials will be broadcast around the world and watched by more people than the Super Bowl. But is there anything so wrong with wanting to look young, sexy and modern on your wedding day? We don't all want to be stifled by chokingly high necklines, suffocating long sleeves and trains that stretch down the aisle. After all, virginity is mostly an illusion in modern weddings, and everybody knows you'll be gettin it on when the ceremony is over. It's your day, Kate. We say wear whatever you like!
