Lauren Conrad's Novel Idea

We Feel Our IQ Dropping Already

The Hills will be signing off this season after five years, but Lauren Conrad isn't giving up the spotlight so easily. Damn. Put the champagne glasses down.

The weepy faux-reality star, who can barely read a cue card and chew gum at the same time, is adding another title to her resume---author.

LC has signed a deal to pen a three-book series. Translation: someone else will do all the work and LC will just slap put her name on it. We assume someone told her yes, Lauren books have pictures AND words, too.

Don't worry, Kelly Cutrone this isn't going to be another Devil Wears Prada. The stories will be loosely inspired by Lauren's life. And by loose we mean in the cinched-so-tight-it's-practically-cutting-off-your-circulation sense of the word.

L.A. Candy, due out June 16th, will offer a behind-the-scenes story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show.

Wow, what a stretch. The plot sounds as flimsy as Lauren's fashion line. But no doubt the chapter Why I Hate My Ex-Best Friend's Boyfriend will be riveting.
