'Family Guy' Spinoff Gets Street Cred
With his neon fetish and equally colorful Kanye-isms, rapper turned turned fashion designer Kanye West is quite a character. So it's not a stretch that he's getting animated on an upcoming episode of The Cleveland Show.
Kanye, a self-professed Family Guy fan will voice the character Kenny West when the show's spinoff debuts on FOX next season.
"It was surprising to us that [he] was so into it that he came to the table [read], and wonderfully surprising how cool he was, how funny he was and how unassuming he was," says executive producer Mike Henry, who voices Cleveland Brown and other characters on the show. "He's just a great presence."
Great, just what we need: Yet one more thing for Kanye to boast about.
The episode will revolve around Cleveland's teenage son Cleveland Jr. who engages in a rap battle with his nemesis Kenny West for the affections of Chanel, a female classmate, voiced by Oscar-nominee Taraji Henson. There's no word on whether West will bring his auto-tune with him to the battle. Maybe it'll be victory by deadly ALL CAPS and excessive exclamation points.
