Opera Erratica Will Have You Singing A Different Tune
Opera can be cool. We swear. Especially if it's done right.
Opera Erratica is described by it's creators as an "underground series of cutting-edge opera productions," and audiences can attest that it delivers just that.
In the third instalment of this zany take on tradition, the group will be putting on
Orlando Lunaire, on Monday, August 23. Set against the most unlikely backdrop, an industrial storage shed in Toronto's West End, this sub-cultured cabaret is set to unite modern music and classical baroque, while incorporating video projections and wild costume.
As you may have guessed from the name (just kidding, what do you know about opera?), this unique project will combine Orlando, by G.F. Handel, and Shoenberg's 'magnum opus' Pierrot Lunaire.
If you've been into theatre, and the thought of the fat lady singing is enough to send shivers down your spine, this might be a great way to moisten your opera palate.
