Lets Get Lit

The 28th annual CAA Winter Festival of Lights, Canada's foremost illumination festival, in Niagara Falls, Ont., continues to reel us in with its 125 animated lighting displays and three million tree and ground lights, until January 31, 2011.

Since November 6, the streets of Niagara Falls have also been filled with ambient, festive décor, and a range of activities for every member of the family – fireworks shows, live music, activities, parties and theatre performances.

You can hit up Jump, Jive and Jingle, a holiday-flavoured musical, participate in a five-kilometre race along Lundy's Lane or simply kick back and watch the 57-metre-high falls glow in the evening.

Or better yet, look out for the Christmas lighting from the Niagara Parks Winter Wonderland, including the famed Enchantment of Disney displays and the world’s largest illuminated Canadian-American flag.

What is the catch to taking in such extraordinary sights?

None. There is no admission fee to view the illuminations, but donations are gratefully accepted (suggested contribution of $5 to $10 per car), with proceeds going towards the lights and displays.

WOMAN.ca invites you to experience the diverse events and attractions that Niagara Falls and the Winter Festival of Lights have to offer, including its latest appeal, the TD RINK at the Brink.

As with the rink at Rockefeller Plaza in New York – but even more dramatic, the TD RINK at the Brink, is an open-air, outdoor ice skating facility, offering unparalleled views and a magical outdoor Niagara Falls ice skating experience. In fact, it’s just a snow ball throw away from the “brink” of the Horseshoe Falls.

Take a trip to Niagara Falls, Ont., during the CAA Winter Festival of Lights. It has become a family tradition for over one million local residents and visitors from around the world.
