Louise Pitre At Jane Mallett Theater

April 18, musical theatre enthusiasts can enjoy a special night of song
entitled La Vie En Rouge featuring Canada’s own award winning
songstress, Louise Pitre. For a one night only concert, which will also
be recorded live for an upcoming album, Louise will be performing in
English and in French with a set list of classics including "La Vie En
Rose," "Ne me quitte pas," "The Man That Got Away," "Hymne A L'amour,"
and "Thank You For The Music/A La Guerre Comme A La Guerre (The Winner
Takes it All).Louise earned her acclaim in Toronto, Montreal, and Paris beginning in 1992 when she starred as French singer Edith Piaf in three productions of Piaf. She would later go on to play Fantine in Toronto’s production of Les Miserables as well as a debut as Donna Sheridan in the Canadian production of Mamma Mia, subsequently starring in the Broadway premiere and earning herself a Tony Award nomination. In 2009 Pitre made her Carnegie Hall debut in the role of Ulrika in the concert version of the musical Kristina by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. More recently, Louise has garnered positive reviews for her leading roles in Love, Loss and What I Wore, A Year with Frog and Toad; Annie Get Your Gun; Song & Dance; I Love you, You're Perfect, Now Change; Blood Brothers; Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Sweeney Todd, and won her fourth Dora award for her role in The Toxic Avenger.
