The
Rock the Bells concert has grown in popularity over the years, known
for having some of the most notable musicians perform at the event: the
Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def. However, the show has
previously been limited to certain locations. Now, organizers intend on
spreading the wealth, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Recently, Guerilla Union and the House of Blues venue chain announced that they have partnered to bring Rock the Bells across the country. A list of performers from the annual concert will be touring House of Blues venues beginning in August to give music lovers everywhere a taste of the event.
The tour will kick off on August 12 in New Orleans and end on October 1 in Myrtle Beach. Some of the most anticipated acts include Black Star, the duo composed of rappers Talib Kweli and Mos Def. Wu-Tang Clan members will also be touring for the first half of the scheduled events.
The last album released by Black Star was in 1998, titled Mos Def and Talib Kweli are Black Star. Perhaps some time on the road together again will encourage the rappers to collaborate one more time in the future.
