There's nothing wrong with being picky about the guys you give your heart to, but if you're passing up great guys waiting for Mr. Perfect, you could be missing out on a lot of good things. Are you judging guys way too quickly and ending up alone because you won't give that sweet but shy guy a shot?

When a guy asks you on a first date, is your primary emotion excitement or dread? Are you ready to write him off before he even shows up for dinner? Stop it! You need to give this guy a chance to get to know you, and you need to give yourself a chance to get to know him. There could be much more to him than what you can see on the surface, and if you've already made up your mind by the time the appetizers arrive, you might never get to see it.

Don't write a guy off for one flaw. Alright, maybe you don't like his shirt - but every guy gets a fashion get-out-of-jail-free card or two, right? He might have a silly laugh or a single crooked tooth or a small zit on his cheek, but is that really reason enough not to go out with him again? Try to see the whole picture, rather than focusing on a single thing you don't like so you can end the relationship before it even gets started. If you're finding reasons to stay single, you're not doing yourself any favors. Give the guy a shot - you don't have to marry him, but you should at least give him a couple of dates
