altIf you're a single mom, it's not uncommon to think that your dating life is over. But while dating with a child - who will babysit? When do I need to be home? - is certainly more complicated than dating when you're childless, a new study conducted by online dating site Match.com has found that the romance certainly doesn't end when you become a parent. In fact, single moms may even be having more success than childless women when it comes to romance.

According to Match.com, "21 percent of single parents are currently dating someone versus 16 percent of singles without kids; 35 percent of single parents have been on a first date in the past year versus 27 percent of singles without kids." Of course, the definition of " dating"  is up for a bit of interpretation. Does it simply mean seeing someone, or does it mean being part of an exclusive couple? (And does it really matter?) Some cities outpace others for single moms. The source reports that single moms in Yonkers, New York, are enjoying the most romantic success, followed by those in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Newport News, Virginia. The data is encouraging for single moms who are hoping to find true love. Contrary to what you may have thought, you've still got plenty of exciting dates and romances in the future - made all the more sweet by the presence of your little one.
