When
you spritz on some perfume before a date, are you hoping that your
fragrance will make you irresistible to your man? If you want your guy
to go gaga over you when he gets a whiff of your signature scent, maybe
you should ditch the florals and citruses and go for some sweets.
Alright, not really - but researchers have recently found that some of
the smells that turn guys on are rather, well, unexpected.
So is it classics like cinnamon, lemon, jasmine and rose that are making men crazy? Not exactly. According to The New York Times, pumpkin pie, lavender, doughnuts and licorice are some of the scents that made guys aroused in an independent study conducted by The Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago.
But does that mean that eating some pie and doughnuts before rolling around in a lavender patch and downing shots of Jaeger will turn you into a magical man magnet?
"There's really nothing that you can spray on and the opposite sex will fall for you," Dr. Johan Lundstrom, an assistant member of the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, told the paper. "It's completely a placebo effect."
As always, the best way to look sexy is to feel sexy - so if you want to become like catnip to men, just wear whatever makes you feel confident. We're guessing that's not eau de doughnut, but we could be wrong.
