Turning Your Workplace Into Green Space

How To Make Your Office More Environmentally-Friendly

altHopefully you work for an eco-conscious company who donates 100% of its profits towards saving the rain forest and recycles and composts everything in sight, but realistically we do not all have that luxury. Work is work, and you are unlikely to inflict massive changes over you company's spending policies overnight. There are, on the other hand, some simple things you can do to help lower your office's footprint on your own.

Reduce Electricity Use

Power cords and and laptop chargers can be a major drain on electricity, and one thats not as obvious as leaving the lights on. Make sure to turn off your computer and power strip before going home everyday and to unplug laptop chargers when they're being used.

Clean The Air With Plants

Air circulation and airborne bacteria can be problems in office buildings. Rather than use anti-bacterial sprays and fresheners, place a few plants in the space. Plants like dracaena and ficus are good for removing toxins.

Eco-Friendly Business Cards

Next time you pickup a fresh stack of business cards, have them printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. You can also find cards that are chlorine-free, made with soy or vegetable ink and printed with non-toxic toner.
