Indigo Creates Eco-Friendly Line of School Supplies

altIndigo has launched a new line of back-to-school supplies that have the environment in mind. School and office supplies are known for their huge use of trees and their inevitable place in landfills. Indigo is curbing this with their smart new products.

First up is a collection of hip and pretty notebooks made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper. All printing is done in soy or vegetable-based ink in a wind powered Canadian print shop. Loose leaf paper is also available. All of Indigo's green notebooks run for under $10.00.

For lunch time in the school or office, there is an assortment of environmentally-friendly tote bags. These totes come in four bright colours and are strong enough to last you more than a semester. The good old stainless steel water bottle is also making an appearance on Indigo's shelves.

The coolest thing in Indigo's new line is their staple-free staplers. The tiny device cuts a tiny flap in the corner of your paper, and folds it in on itself, tucked in a tiny paper pocket. If this thing catches on, it could potentially save thousands of tons of steel used for manufacturing staples.
