Art Al Fresco in the City

This weekend the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition brings art out of the galleries and under the sun at Nathan Phillips Square. Now in its 48th year, Canada's largest outdoor arts festival will feature over 500 vendors showcasing the best in contemporary arts and craft from around the country.

Based on a similar concept in New York and co-launched by Jackson Pollock, TOAE covers everything from ceramics to jewelry to computer-generated art, and has been a launching pad for artists such as Ken Danby, David Blackwood, Jennifer Stead and Harlan House.

Starting this Friday and running all weekend, TOAE is a great way to encounter genuine one-off pieces and maybe even discover your new favorite artist! Plus it's a fantastic way to support emerging talent as the exhibition is completely non-profit, with all sales going directly to the artist.
