Have A Few Laughs This Month

This week marks the beginning of the 6th annual Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival featuring comedian Brian Gallivan and his YouTube viral sensation "Sassy Gay Friend", a character that helps classic literary heroines get a handle on their love lives.

Sassy Gay Friend Live will feature a live adaptation of the most popular videos, appearances by Gallivan's critically acclaimed original characters, and even some sassy gay help for audience members! SketchFest, as it's commonly known, will host many other special events nightly throughout the festival including free improv at Second City and free midnight madness at Comedy Bar.

Returning this year for your entertainment is Some Conditions Apply, a night of commercial parodies on November 4 at Comedy Bar. Some Conditions Apply will see eight sketch troupes battle it out for the best parody of an advertisement using their sketchiest skills. If it's possible to improve the Old Spice commercials, it will happen at SketchFest!

Audiences will have the chance to see over 40 North American acts at SketchFest including Statutory Jape, The Riot, Ninja Sex Party, Last Call Cleveland, Accidental Company, Haircut and Smells Like the 80s.

The festival runs from November 2-7th at Lower Ossington Theatre, Comedy Bar, and The Second City. Advance tickets are available online here or can be purchased at venue box offices.
