Get Social With The Society
The Society Global,
with Ashleigh Dempster and Amanda Blakely at the helm,
recently hosted two invite-only parties, and drenched both coasts of
the USA in music, drink, art, and conversation.
The Society, exclusive culture club for the creative class in LA, Miami, NYC and Toronto, hooked up with Johnnie Walker
to take a select few back to the days of good old fashioned garage
bands – where there was actually a band playing in a garage – and those
epic house parties no one throws anymore, traveling coast-to-coast, as
part of The Society Living Room Concert Series presented by Johnnie
Walker.
First up: New York City hosted party number
one, located in a 4,000 sq. ft. loft in Tribeca. Guests enjoyed the
feel-good vibes of live music, tasty Johnnie Walker cocktails
on ice, and noshed on popcorn and mini-hot dogs. The low-key and
comfortable atmosphere was amicably met by an acoustic set from
ridiculously sexy Brooklyn-based indie rockers, Black Taxi,
filling the room with their signature sound; a mix of new-wave melodic
undertones, with the gritty tenderness of garage-blues and jazz as they
lounged on shag carpeting and giant red floor pillows.
Next up, The Living Room Concert Series sets up in LA, where guests piled into a super-private home in Venice Beach. The ‘incredible’ Family of The Year, who have been likened to ‘The Mamas and The Papas on acid,’ [Stephen Tyler] or, more eloquently, “ a collective that’s equally comfortable harmonizing on ’70s-style Hollywood Hills piano rock as it is churning out urgent, high-tech indie pop” [SPIN magazine] played for a crowd who ate pretty cupcakes and sipped on tea with lemon, in between samples of Johnnie Walker Blue.
The Society: where everyone is creative,
good-looking and oh-so fashionable. A big thank you to Jennifer
Nilsson-Weiskott, Ashleigh Dempster, Amanda Blakely and all those from
The Society Global, who continue to keep true to their mission:
“To make culture a relevant and affordable luxury for their members, delivering a calendar of unique social and cultural encounters that challenge, excite, and entertain. Creating and producing authentic experiences that you can’t get anywhere else. The Society, along with their continually evolving roster of partners, aims to exhibit the best in local and international talent from various industries, including fashion, art, music, cuisine, literature and performance.”
