Don’t stress. There’s a lot of hype around these five parties – and there are still some tickets left!

1. The Windsor Ball at the Windsor Arms Hotel (18 St. Thomas St, Toronto, ON)
If there’s one night each year where dressing to the nines and spending tons of cash is totally acceptable, it’s New Years Eve. The Windsor Arms Hotel hosts a party of three rooms serving until 3am.  One room will be DJ’ed by the handsome Perry Gilman, while the other will be hosted by Project Runway’s Jason Meyers. The third room is a mystery, but we’re sure it won’t disappoint. Of course, this party seems a little bit on the fussy side, at least compared to some of the others in the city. You know, with the formal dress code, booth and bottle service reservations and hoity-toity locale.  But we’re kind of into that, actually. Live a little, will ya? It’s a new decade! The added bonus? Unlike The Drake, the HQ for another buzzed about New Years event, there are plenty of rooms at the Windsor Arms available, so you can get a swanky crash pad and skip out on cab stress.
Tickets
$75 and will increase in price as the date approaches

2. Baby Huey’s NYE (72 Ossington Ave, Toronto ON)
Ossington’s hipster hotspot does New Year’s Eve in style. Two floors of tunes and cheap drinks are sure to get patrons nice and sweaty. Keep your eyes peeled for this one though, the place is so fantastic it doesn’t need a proper sign. If you think you’re standing in front of a Vietnamese restaurant blaring muffled make-out music, you’ve probably found it.

3. Chronologic at The Garrison (1197 Dundas West, Toronto ON)
Toronto’s new indie music venue, The Garrison, is playing host to the popular decade-to-decade dance party Chronologic this New Year’s Eve. The party has been bouncing around the city lately but originated at The Boat in Kensignton Market. There, dedicated party-goers have been lining up outside (despite that musky carpet stench) for quite some time now. DJ Louis Calabro, who also hosts the 50’s-60’s dance party Goin’ Steady, and DJ Shit La Merde bring the party to a new venue for a massive celebration filled with throwbacks all the way from 1890-2011.

4. Parts and Labour New Year’s Eve (1566 Queen West, Toronto ON)
Parkdale’s newest purlieu (well, semi-new... it opened this summer) Parts and Labour celebrates its first New Year’s Eve with two dinner seatings upstairs, and a party with DJ Scott Cudmore downstairs. Upstairs is large enough not to feel cramped but maintains an intimate feel with communal tables, exposed brick walls and an array of vintage and recycled lamps. New Year’s dinner features oysters, prime rib, lobster and champagne at $100 a head for the 6:30 seating, and $125 for the 10:00 seating. You can always eat at home and catch everyone downstairs starting at 10 for only $10.

5. Prohibition Party at The Drake (1150 Queen West, Toronto ON)
Holy Boardwalk Empire, people. The HBO show totally inspired this event! This New Year’s Eve The Drake Hotel is going back to the roaring twenties with “a good old fashioned Prohibition Party”. The Drake is always a popular place for New Year’s Eve so this may be your best option when it comes to ensuring fail-safe fun. General admission has sold out but there are still tickets available for the ‘Strolling Dinner’ of passed hors d’oeuvres, mini meals and Drake’s famous bake sale. The space promises prohibition-era flapper dancers and a musical performance by Maylee Todd. Just feel like popping by after midnight for some dancing? There are some after-midnight tickets still available, too.

After-midnight - $20

If I had to pick one, I would probably go with either Windsor Ball or The Drake. P&L is to far west and it will be a nightmare trying to get cabs, and Baby Huey is to cramped. Not even considering Chronologic, as I agree with @jeremyTORONTO when he says it is the worst.

Chronologic is the worst crowd. I have gone a few times and never had fun. A bunch of try-hards. If you REALLY must be a hipster, at least do Baby Huey's.
