Five things to look for next time you're at a cafe

altRegardless of where you call your home, there are certain elements of a classic cafe setting that always tend to stay the same. And let's be real - everyone around you is probably absorbed in their work, their conversations or their daydreams, but they all went there in order to people-watch from the periphery. Next time you're at a cafe, see if you can locate these coffee-culture archetypes.

1. The regular with the odd accessory. There's always one guy that comes in there every day with some weird toy or gadget that's totally out of step with the environment - like a stuffed animal, or his collection of figurines.

2. The throaty consumer. One person will undoubtedly make enough hacks, coughs and harumphs for an entire cafe full of people.

3. The volatile temper. We guess this is all depending on where you live, but most places are privy to at least one regular who does a lot of barely-audible muttering and may occasionally throw his or her coffee down in anger when prepared with too much milk.

4. Once hungover, always hungover. Yep, there's always that guy.

5. The all-important executive of life. Someone's double-booked for too many Blackberry dates.
