Three great romantic comedies for single girls.

altWhen you're single, sometimes the last thing you want to watch is a big gushy movie all about love and marriage. But then again, isn't every female lead single at the beginning of the film? Only then can her big adventure begin! So, that being said, here are our favorite films to watch when you're looking for a fun night in with a glass of wine and a bowl of ice cream, hoping to escape to romantic fantasy-land for an hour or two.

1. Sweet Home Alabama. It's impossible to resist Reese Witherspoon's adorable southern drawl in this charming tale about a city-and-country love triangle. Sure, Patrick Dempsey is lookin fine, but Josh Lucas is flat-out irresistible as Reese's erstwhile hometown honeybunch. We love this tale about having to choose between two worlds, and its message is uplifting even to single gals - the one you're looking for might be somebody who's been there the whole time.

2. Love Actually. It doesn't have to be Christmas for you to enjoy the intertwining storylines of this classic holiday romcom. Hugh Grant is cute as a button, Colin Firth is his usual sexy self and Alan Rickman's relationship with his son had us "aww"-ing the whole way through. Just like in real life, not everyone ends up happy by the movie's finish, but every struggle is as emotionally wrenching and spiritually uplifting as the next.

3. How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. A silly movie about two opposing bets that bring a couple together, this goofy romance will have you feeling better about every embarrassing thing you've ever done in a previous relationship. By the end of the film, it's impossible not to be rooting for Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey to end up together.

So there you have it - break out the chardonnay and the Kleenex and get watching.
