Ocean Drive Theme Kicks Toronto into Spring

The Royal Ontario Museum is still in a ticklish bliss over a lustful one-night stand last weekend. Nearly 1,000 patrons enjoyed an Ocean Drive-themed soiree with a brilliant twist. This one-night stand included a swish one-night only makeover. Winter seemed a world away as the venue jumped with bold colour and thumpin' tunes by Vanity Fair-favoured DJ Mateo. The Young Patrons' Circle (YPC) at the ROM did a bang up job of chasing winter to the curb. Temperatures rose as hemlines lifted, yes indeed, this dance floor was made for vanity.

The YPC cleverly mingled Toronto chic with Miami heat. With a breezy South Beach scene, set with equal parts glamour and glitztall palm trees, white-hot cabanas, swish water effects, splashy cocktails and exhilarating entertainment PROM IV: Ocean Drive certainly steamed up the city. At 10 pm, DJs ignited Miami's feverish tempo as the party spilled into the soaring spaces of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. PROM revelers certainly embraced South Beach's signature lookhot and high style' with glitzy, glamourous dress, featuring colours like aqua, coral and white. Best dressed of the night? MTV's Jesse Cruickshank, philanthropist Cléophée Eaton, party princess Ainsley Kerr, Get It Done PR maven Melony Jamieson, Best PR Boutique's Candice Best and evergreen man-about-town Marcus Doyle.

The evening featured an exclusive dinner with celebrity chef Mark McEwan. McEwan, known for his top restaurants and aptly-titled Food Network show, The Heat, also catered the party. Cabanas held by supporting sponsors, Revolution Fitness and Puma, served as hotspots as the party playground thrived on sets by Miami-imported DJ Mateo from the Delano Hotel and Canada's own Nikki-Beach-resident-export, DJ jojoflores.

It's like walking into the Delano Hotel in South Beach when you arrive at PROM: and who couldn't use an injection of South Beach fun at this time of year? says Jennifer Bassett, the ingeniously connected PROM Co-Chair.

Adds style-savvy PROM Co-Chair, Candice Best, The jumping off point for the ocean-inspired theme was the imminent opening of the new Schad Gallery of Biodiversity, which will house a live coral reef.
