Houdini Who? Piff Paff Poof Puts A New Spin On Magic

altMarch is magic show month for Piff Paff Poof, an interactive family magic show presented by Magicana.

Magicana is a renowned performing arts and charitable organization that makes magic available to those who would not normally have access to it. Piff Paff Poof is the brainchild of Magicana’s experienced magicians Julie Eng (executive director) and David Ben (artistic director) who wanted to create a new Toronto-based magic show designed for children ages 5-12.

Piff Paff Poof debuted at the Lower Ossington Theatre on March 5 and runs until March 27. Perfect timing for those on March break!

According to Magician David Ben, “Piff Paff Poof is the perfect production to introduce children to their number one companion – their imagination.”

Ben thinks that this type of show is a great way for parents to pry their kids away from the TV and computer screens, and introduce them to something totally new and exciting: imaginative family time.

For the show, Ben and Eng are joined by their bunny, Poof, as well as two sought after children’s entertainers, Mark Lewis and Richard Lyn.

Both Ben and Eng have been involved in many other great magic productions through Magicana. They are the founders of My Magic Hands and Senior Sorcery. My Magic Hands is a teaching magic program presented at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (among other Toronto community centers) while Senior Sorcery is designed to bring live theatre in the form of magic shows to engage and empower seniors.

These two entertainers know what they’re doing. Piff Paff Poof is more than just your average magic show. This production is sure to keep the kids entertained. Make your March break a little bit more meaningful by checking out Magicana’s Piff Paff Poof.
