The "Hourglass" is Back at this Sultry Shopping Soiree

WOMAN.ca loves that GUESS by Marciano has brought the glamour back to ready-to-wear 2009. The print and online ad campaign presents a collection inspired by Hollywood's Golden Age - think smoldering sensuality. This frisky new line can't come soon enough. We're quite frankly bored of the whole shapeless, shabby, big dress trend from fast fashion outlets (we won't name names).

On May 7, 2009, GUESS will welcome fashion lovers to their Toronto Flagship store at 77 Bloor Street West. Lush Magazine's Celebrated Fashion Director Peter Papapetrou will co-host the swish soiree with soulful siren Jully Black.

Old Hollywood Glamour becomes new again with Guess by Marciano's Spring/Summer 2009 campaign. Glamorous pin-up girls lounge in their finest day and evening wear, demonstrating how chic it is to look extraordinary, especially when doing ordinary things!

The campaign, shot in a Malibu home by photographer Matthias Vriens, transports you to a seaside Tuscan villa and paints a picture of true luxury. Emily Didonato and Cory Bond star in the campaign and are shot in various provocative scenarios: lounging atop a fountain in the quintessential little black dress, indulging in a cat nap by the pool in a black silk frock, and posing seductively on the sands in a floral romper.

High-waisted shorts are paired with ruffle-front blouses and floral rompers are complimented by patent belts. Pops of pink and purple satin and chiffon dresses stand out against black and white graphic print dresses and skirts, rounding out the collection. Styling is inspired by the 1950's with full skirts and nipped in waists playing a strong role throughout the collection. These lady-like designs that accentuate a woman's natural curves and hourglass figure relate to the theme of the campaign and overall collection.

Guided by the creative direction of Paul Marciano, the campaign features an intimate look at the Guess by Marciano woman, captured and brought to reality by renowned photographer, Matthias Vriens. The images are captured in bold color and design, depicting the alluring lifestyle of the Guess by Marciano woman.

This contemporary runway-inspired collection, designed for the fashion forward woman, is daringly sexy, yet has highly sophisticated style that represents pure glamour in everyday fashion. Marciano boutiques are located in North America, as well as international metropolitan centers throughout the globe. You can also find the Marciano collection in select flagship GUESS store locations, specialty stores, and online at www.marciano.com.
