It's Time for Do-It-Yourself Summer Fashion
If you haven't noticed 90s fashion encroaching on the short-lived 80's revival, I'm not sure you've looked outside lately. I can't say I'm sad to see 80s go, but I do love batwing arms and some of the silhouettes from that speck in fashion history.
90s is bringing us back to a simpler time; a time of blue jeans, white Ts, converse, and really strappy platform sandals; thankfully, the square heel has only made it's debut on the catwalk and hasn't fully caught on in Toronto. I just hate that square heel.
Two items I'm desperately trying to track down for this season are a good pair of warn in jeans and a droopy, thin, oh-so-loved T (any colour will do, however, white would be ideal). Since our summers get far too hot for full length pants, the jeans will be turned into some sweet, pocket-bearing, cut off shorts.
The T, well, that's to cover my top area and complete the comfortable, cool look. I've been rummaging through thrift stores, Value Village, and Goodwill since the winter trying to find these two items, to no avail obviously. But, I have not surrendered and will continue to hunt until I find the two staples imperative to my being cool (yes, that's ambiguous; I'm so clever) for the next 4 months.
So go rummage your old clothes, your mom's clothes, or someone else's clothes and find your jean shorts and comfy, plain T. It's summa time.
