Chanel's Famed Mr. Lagerfeld Introduces Hunky Baptiste Gianconi to The Fashion World

Behind every good artist is a good muse. Warhol had his Edie. Lennon had his Yoko. And Mr. Karl Lagerfeld, designer and creative director for Chanel, is no different. But who can blame him? (Have you seen this new guy?)

Of late, the white haired wonder has been spotted jetting around with a tall, dark, sculpted Adonis who we now know is Baptiste Gianconi. The pair was spotted in this week in Berlin, both dressed to kill.

Lagerfeld has a history of picking favourites. Today it's Gianconi. But, it once was the pin thin and hugely popular Kate Moss. Fickle he may be, but at least his loyalties don't fade over time. In fact, on this very day (July 24th) in 2006, Lagerfeld caused quite a stir in the fashion world for openly siding with Moss in her feud with fellow runway heavyweight Naomi Campbell.

"There is no second Kate Moss," he said. "People want to look and be like her, but it must remain a fantasy for 99 per cent of the world: they don't have the looks, the circumstances, the thing..." His feelings toward of Miss Campbell were hardly as warm and fuzzy. "The way she behaves is not very chic," he scoffed. "I hate people who let themselves go, I hate drunk women. To keep a certain discipline in life is a good thing..."

Let's hope Baptiste isn't a boozer. /
