Affordable Trend Alert: Lace Up Boots

Gettin' the Boot at the Right Price is Easy with ALDO

One of the most original shoe trends from last fall was the lace up boot. Short booties or knee highs, laces could be seen in every boot that graced the runway. This season they are back vengeance and with a whole new look.

A thicker heel, more rounded toe and hardware to makes them trendy in all the right ways. Designers like Brian Atwood, Tory Burch and Sigerson Morrison revealed their styles last fall but prices were sky high - upwards of $500 - more than what most of us recessionista fashionistas would pay for a seasonal trend. Celebs like Jessica Alba and Kate Moss were both fans of the lacy shoes and were photographed to death in them last fall, making the shoes even more coveted!

This shoe is more versatile than you think and easily pairs with leggings or jeans. For an edgier look, pair them with a flirty floral dress and layer with a denim shirt or light weight leather jacket.

If you are a recessionista shopper like me, you know to invest in the classics and find a cheaper alternative to the trends that are only going to be out of style next season. I have to admit to watching stand out items on the runway trickle down over the year until an affordable designer makes their signature knock off. To my delight and just as every new and hot trend does, the lace up bootie has finally made its debut at very affordable prices. The style options of laced boots are endless! Peep toe, wedge, heels, flats, short and tall boots can all be found at ALDO (pictured above) and all within price points of $120 to $200. Charles David, Forever 21, Steve Madden and Jeffrey Campbell also have great selections.
