How to make your summer dresses fitting for Fall

Not ready to call it quits on your summer fling with your summer dresses? Neither are we. If you're looking for ways to carry your cutest sunshine season wardrobe into the early Fall, here are a few tips on how to dress up and accessorize an old look with a new one!

  • Wear a scarf - Scarves are both trendy and multi-purpose garments. Alternate between light and heavy ones depending on the weather so that your neck isn't sweltering or too cold; you can also wear it tighter and closer to the neck or loosely draped. The scarf creates an illusion of an outfit that is layered much heavier than it really is, so with the appropriate colours and patterns to match your dress you will be good to go.
  • Jacket - Light jackets are perfect for Fall weather and are simultaneously the perfect addition to an outfit that needs to acclimate. A blazer or structured jacket will work depending on the length of your dress and your body shape.
  • Blouse - To avoid bare shoulders in cooler weather, a light button down blouse can be worn under your dress for a sophisticated look. Choose your neckline according to the dress style and the sleeves according to the temperature.
  • Footwear/Legwear - Boots are for sure in keeping with autumn style - they make for warm feet and a professional, working-girl image. Dress up that dress with a nice slender pair of boots or even some sheer, dark, or opaque leggings!
