The Boho Braid

The boho braid is back

altThe boho side braid is wrapping itself around the heads of many Hollywood stars this year, including Lauren Conrad in last season of The Hills and British actress Sienna Miller at last year's Golden Globe Awards. Some stars have been spotted sporting a single mini braid parted at the side and braided across the hairline, while others have been seen with the halo braid which wraps all the way around the head and is usually worn as a crown to a messy bun. Either way, the French braid is an elegant look and can be worn formally or casually - it's also convenient for keeping long bangs out of your way! Here's how to rock this style:

1.) Comb or brush the hair out and spray on a detangler for smoother hair, if necessary.

2.) Section and part the hair with the end of a comb, and twist the hair in each section into a small bun. Hold the sectioned hair in place with a hair clip until ready to braid.

3.) Start at the top of the head for the first braid. Unclip the sectioned hair and comb it.

4.) Divide the hair into three sections as you would for a normal braid. Cross the right section over the middle section. The right section is now in the middle and becomes the middle section.

5.) Tighten down gently, then cross the left section over the middle section. The left section is now the new middle section. Hold the three sections in your left hand without losing any tension so the braid does not slip apart.

6.) Take the end of a comb, and pull a narrow strand of unbraided hair from top section on the right side. This hair will be braided into the hairline.

7.) Hold the three braided sections in your left hand and add the narrow strand of hair to the right section of the braid. Cross them both together over the middle section of the braid. Hold the braid and all three sections in your right hand.

8.) Continue alternating strands between right and left until you run out. Put a bobby pin or hair clip to hold it in place.

9.) Start the next mini French braid in the next section closest to the top of the head. Continue braiding until all the mini braids are done.
