The Highlights Of LG Fashion Week 2010

After a busy week of showcasing the best of this year's couture, LG Fashion week is getting ready to wrap it up on the runway.

If you missed out on all of the glamorous action, don't worry, we've got the highlights.

Holt Renfrew gave fashion lovers everywhere a reason to get up in the morning! Holt Renfrew presented some of the hottest designers in 2010. A pre-show film by creative director John Gerhardt paid homage to fashion editor Diana Vreeland and kicked off the fashion showing for the Spring/Summer 2011 lines. Some notable names included Denis Gagnon, Jeremy Laing, Lida Baday, Pink Tartan, Wayne Clark, and Mikhael Kale to close the headlining runway show.

On Wednesday, Winnipegger Rachel Mara (at left) was a much anticipated feature with her "STOLEN" collection of cardigan sweaters, light sheath dresses, pencil skirts, and V-neck blouses. Black and white made up most of the collection with a few prints scattered in the mix. "Prints are just something that I'm drawn to," said Mara. "I just wanted a variety of a few soft, muted ones and then some with a punch."

Joe Fresh Style unveiled its spring collection offering a line of casual, classy, and leisure friendly outfits consisting of collared dress shirts, A-line skirts, khaki shorts and an overall them of work-meets-play. WOMAN.CA had the pleasure of joining in the Joe Fresh fun at their after party held at Maison Mercer, a trendy night club on Mercer St between King and John. Beyond the velvet rope and orange carpet featuring the trademark Joe Fresh logo, it was a flashy, lively night of non-stop beats and shoulder to shoulder groovin'. The celebration was bursting with energy all night while a wide screen on the upper level displayed a virtual catwalk of the Joe Fresh Style line on loop. Aside from the one lonely bar tender on the main floor who did a stellar job of serving all by herself all night long (but we felt for her!), Joe Fresh proved that they know how to throw a fab party!

Today's final showcase for Fashion Week features shows by Lana Dugmag, Amanda Lew Kee (our pick for designer-to-watch), and Denis Gagnon. Check out the LG site for photos and info on all of the most prominent designers and styles!
