WOMAN.ca Meets Victoria's Secret Angels

Victoria's Secret models are basically the epitome of every little boy's (and sometimes girl's) fantasy they're beautiful, they have dream jobs that take them across the world, garner them legions of fans and probably tons of swag, not to mention the closet/drawers/suitcases full of sexy lingerie that they get to keep.

Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge are in town (one day only!) for the much anticipated opening of the fourth Victoria's Secret location in Canada, at the Toronto Eaton Centre. The pair arrived this morning by helicopter (is there any other way to travel?) and spent their day offering up carefully scripted sound bites to the eager Canadian media ear.
There's no surprise that walking into an interview with two relatively hot commodities like Ambrosio (a 10 year VS vet) and Aldridge (the new kid on the block) would leave anyone shaking in their not-so-close-to-a-size-zero jeans.

Holding court at the swanky downtown Thompson Hotel, they looked totally at ease in their micro mini VS dresses with tiny waists and legs that literally don't quit. Yes, in person they're just as gorgeous as their ads stunning even. But they're also just people, just two girls doing their thing. When you realize they're just like you, only skinnier, you kind of come back down to earth.

We only got a chance to sit with them for a brief moment (they needed some prep time for their two hour stint at the grand opening ceremony of the Eaton Centre location), but they did answer a few questions.

What's the biggest perk about being an angel?
Alessandra: Travelling all over the world they treat us like angels! We go to the most glamourous places in the world, get to hang out with our friends as we work, it's like a big family.
Lily: We're so happy to see everyone!
A: It's different from other jobs that you do once, you never see a person again. It's more like, Victoria's Secret keeps it like a close family.

What advice do you offer women on how to feel sexy?

A: In the perfect lingerie, you're definitely going to feel sexy. Something that fits your body perfectly and is very comfortable on you.
L: Comfort is key, so you feel confidant and happy.

You're job is to be beautiful, do you ever get tired of the attention?
A: There are definitely times when you don't want to be recognized, you want to be home or just hanging out with your friends on the street. It's just about balancing work and getting all the attention, just having a balance of both.
L: Yea, because you need your time alone. It's still fun to do this and the shows, to be this sexy amazing woman but then I go home and put on my
flannels and you know, chill. There are times when you want to be glamourous and times when you want to be comfortable with your friends and
family.

Do you think the Canadian fans are excited about Victoria's Secret opening here?
L: I can't imagine not having a Victoria's Secret, it's been a huge part of my life for my whole life. I grew up in LA, and it was everywhere I'd go in high school and I go there all the time now. If I didn't have that I'd be so excited because it's such a staple in America and now it's going to be here. It's so nice for women to be able to go out and buy beautiful lingerie.
A: And try all the lingerie...
L: It's fun trying them all on, the different kinds there's something for everyone.
A: You can spend hours in that shop with your friends. I've done it, it's so fun!

Do we really believe that these bombshells shop at Victoria's Secret for hours with their girlfriends? No... after all, they do make millions of dollars and fly around in private air crafts - but that's okay. They're pretty and that's what counts, right? Although, it would have been nice to hear a little bit more about the girls themselves. By now, we're all privy to Victoria's Secret. But what makes their models tick? That's something I'd wait to find out...
