Why His Style Isn't So Bad After All
Running
out of outfit ideas? Is your wardrobe lacking originality? If you
answered 'yes' to both and your bank account can't handle yet another
retail relapse, consider going thrift and close to home. That is, your
man's man cave.
You may be surprised at just how much style you can rock
after some Saturday afternoon rummaging through the best and worst of
his fashion statements. With his permission, of course. Here are some
items you might be lucky enough to score:
Tie
With a crisp white button down shirt or an
accessory for a simple black v-neck, pick a tie from your guy's
collection and rock the preppy look. Ties can be worn with pretty much
anything, pants or skirts, and an assortment of colours. Don't worry,
Avril Lavigne has come a long way since her Sk8r days of tie trend
setting, it's safe to break them out again.
Vintage Rock T-shirts
Wearing a boyfriend's clothing
always reminds me of the scene in The Wedding Singer when Robbie's
ex-girlfriend is in his bedroom wearing his shirt and he says, "Please
get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break
up." But we have to admit it's a hot look. Wear an old t-shirt to a
casual house party or a concert (they say you should always wear a
different band's t-shirt than the one you're going to see). His
favourite Ramones tee will even come in handy just for cleaning up
around the house.
Shirt Dress
'Tis the season for
leggings and jeggings galore. They're perfect for keeping your legs warm
in cold weather as well as comfortable But for some reason shirts that
are long enough to cover your derriere and flow past your knees are not
as easy to find as the heaps upon heaps of leggings in every store. No
problem, just dig through the boyfriend's shirt pile and find something
long and drapey.
Pyjamas
Is there anything comfier than
an old flannel shirt of his five sizes too big? Sleepwear is one of the
best hidden gems in his closet.
Boyfriend Blazer
In
the mood for some 80's throwback fashion? The boyfriend blazer is a
masculine meets feminine suit jacket that can be found on the rack of
your favourite retail store. But why bother splurging when you've got a
boyfriend blazer straight off the back of your boyfriend? Wear it with a
fitted cami and a pair of jeans.
