The Coveted

What was more fun for the budding fashionista back in the day than rummaging through her mom or grandmother's closet for hidden, stylish gems?

Flash forward – you still get that kind of excitement from poking around in your friend's wardrobes, but have you ever wondered what the closets of  fashion's trendsetters might look like? Maybe like Carrie's enviable engagement gift from Big in Sex And The City, or Claire's from Clueless, with rotating shelves and a computerized stylist to keep it all in order.

Daydreaming just wasn't enough for bloggers Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark – the creative duo behind the recently launched blog, The Coveted (not to be confused with the already well known the-coveted.com, the peek-into-the-life blog of fashion follower and Independent Fashion Bloggers founder, Jennine Jacobs). Armed with nothing but curiosity, a lust for fashion, and their photographer Jake Rosenberg, Kleinberg and Mark get us up close and personal for an intimate look into the closets of some of fashion's tastemaker elite.

“The site focuses on curations, styling, and new ways of showcasing the personalization behind fashion's elite, Kleinberg and Mark, in collaboration with the talent themselves, show and describe, in their own words, the significance each item plays in their lives – from personal accomplishments to the way these meaningful belongings have influenced their unique sense of style.”

The Coveted launched on January 21 with a peek into Associate Fashion Editor for FLARE Magazine, Fiona Green's wardrobe. There's a brief bit about who she is and why she's someone to watch, where she finds her inspiration and then it's right into what we came for – the fashion porn.

Don't worry. You won't be wracking your brain trying to figure out where each piece came from (even the most die-hard fashion fans have their off days). Roll over each image and you'll get the brand information and sometimes a little gem about the story behind it.

Since Green's post, the girls have also raided the closet's of Keith Pollock (Editorial Director of ELLE.com), Mona Sharf (Director, Communications & Celebrity, Theory & Helmut Lang), John Gerhardt (Creative Director, Holt Renfrew), Mary Kate Steinmiller (Fashion Market Editor, Teen Vogue), Joanna Hillman (Senior Fashion Market Editor, Harper's Bazaar), Karla Martinez (Fashion Market and Accessories Director, W Magazine), Jane Keltner De Valle (Fashion News Director, Teen Vogue), and Eugene Tong (Senior Style Editor, Details Magazine).

I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see who they've got in store next!

Hilary Lauren Fox
About the author:

Sometimes she's a redhead, sometimes she's a blonde. Some days it's H&M, and on other days, it's Chanel. What ever the mood, she is a woman who is passionate about the arts, fashion and social media. Born in Toronto, Hilary Lauren Fox is an only child to artist parents - mom was an illustrator and pattern maker, dad was a painter.  Rather then studying the arts as her parents hoped for, Hilary opted for a degree in psychology with dreams of working in a clinical setting. But after graduating she realized that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and that the arts was in her blood, applying her education within the art and fashion world.
