altLooking for a way to look chic while staying cool this summer? Channel your inner flower child this summer with a sweet '70s inspired 'do!

If you want to add a sweet touch to your loose, flowing locks, tuck a flower behind your ear. Pick one from the garden - look for something fragrant, like frangiapani or gardenia - or head to the local craft store to find a fake one. A flower can be the perfect complement to any casual hairstyle, and if you want to wear your hair back, you can wedge it into a bun or clip it into a ponytail, too.

To keep your hair off your face this summer, invest in a cute, chic headband. Look for one with floral or feathered detailing for a bright and colorful way to ring in the season. If you want a truly '70s look, pick an elastic alice band and wear it across your forehead.

Of course, nothing says '70s quite like braids! There are a million ways to braid your hair - wear a long one draped over your shoulder, French braid your bangs, create pigtails or twist a single braid into the side of your mane. Make this style your own by trying out a fishtail braid, which has only two groups of hair instead of three, like a traditional braid.
