Some people found it breathtakingly beautiful; it reminded others of a toilet seat or a uterus. Love it or hate, Princess Beatrice's royal wedding fascinator is now iconic - it's been Photoshopped onto the heads of everyone from U.S. President Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden to Wills and Kate themselves. And now, one of the world's most famous hats is up for auction on eBay to fetch a handsome price for two charities.
The fascincator, designed by Philip Treacy, is currently fetching upwards of 18,000 - nearly $30,000 Canadian. The proceeds will benefit UNICEF UK and Children in Crisis. "I'm amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted," Princess Beatrice said. " It's a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have." Don't exactly have thirty grand lying around to spend on a fancy hat? You can send a check to the charity of your choice - even a small amount helps - and use a few extra dollars to purchase a unique fascinator of your own. Who knows? Maybe the hat you choose will become even more famous than Beatrice.
