Home Food Delivery Service Makes Dieting Healthy
I've always been one of those people who gain weight when I diet. Usually forgetfulness and stress will get me back to fighting form, but after quitting smoking a few years ago, I just can't seem to snap back. I tried cutting back on calories and exercising (admittedly, not at the same time) and after disappointing results, I thought I'd try something different. I turned to Nutrition in Motion, a diet meal delivery service based in Toronto and Montreal. Delivering three fresh, healthy meals, two snacks and a dessert right to your door, NIM takes the guesswork out of dieting with its no-hassle program. To begin, I filled out the online diet analysis questionnaire that customizes the plan best for your preferences and body type. NIM then gives you the option of choosing your own menu online from over 100 entrees, snacks and desserts. It's like having your own personal chef and nutritionist at the click of a mouse.
Monday: My first day on NIM. I find an insulated cooler bag at my front door this morning containing my meals for the day. The food comes impressively packed along with a printout listing each meal's ingredients and caloric intake. Portions are small, albeit delicious. My breakfast, a tomato and cheese omelet, is to die for, but by mid-morning I'm feeling hungry and panicky. An hour later, I eat my first snack of the day, Cajun peanuts, and wonder how something this tasty can be good for you. Lunch consists of an Asian beef salad which just might be the best salad I've ever eaten. For someone that's never been a fan of salad, this is a big deal. I eat slowly and when I start to feel hungry hours later, I have my second snack, a sushi crab roll which is the perfect little bite, right down to the ridiculously fresh wasabi. For dinner, the sweet glaze teriyaki steak amounts to about half of what I would normally eat, but the flavour, especially the squash fries, makes up for it. My dessert, homemade white chocolate almond bark, is the perfect ending to the day. It's hard to believe all this food only adds up to 1200 calories. I go to bed not feeling hungry. A good diet day, to be sure.
Wednesday: I'm no longer worried about hunger pangs. Rebecca Malen, Vice-President and Co-Founder of Nutrition in Motion says the key is timing. Smaller meals spread throughout the day to keep your metabolism fired up. I shocked to find that I've already lost 3 pounds!
Friday: My last day of the NIM 5 day plan. I step on the scale, and to my amazement, find I've lost 5 pounds in total. Amazing! But this is considered normal in your first week on the NIM program. Along with the quality and convenience, I love the thoughtfulness behind the program which allows me not to have to think at all. Also, being an extremely picky eater, I appreciate being able to go online to design my own menu so there aren't any disappointments in my food choices. Other great features of the program include complimentary nutritional consultations by email, phone or live chat. In the past, my ability to lose weight was usually a result of poor eating and jangly nerves. With Nutrition in Motion, shedding those extra pounds was anything but unhealthy or stressful.
