Can Eating Like an Infant Help You Drop Weight?

Babies might be a little on the squishy side, but adopting their diet is said to make grown-up's thinner. It's a fad diet that has taken Hollywood by storm. It's called The Baby Food Diet (BFD) and stars like Shakira,Courtney Cox and BFF Jennifer Aniston are said to have used it... and seen results.

It's a crash diet that only last six days, and is said to help you loose 5 lbs fast. The 1,200 calorie diet is amazingly easy to follow, however it's not exactly cheap. Baby food can be expensive, so many people opt to make their own. All you need is a blender, and a few small containers, and you're set - but make sure you portion well. The diet only works if you eat the puree in small servings, ones that are the same size as a jar of baby food from the grocery store.

Most jars of Baby Food are 100 calories each, so as the diet recommends, you can eat up to 12 jars a day whenever you're hungry. People who have successfully completed the diet have said that opting for fruit foods (like apple mango, or strawberry), rather than savory mixtures (like peas, or yams) makes the diet a whole lot easier to complete.

However, dietitians warn that all crash diets and cleanses, like the BFD diet, are only to be done over short periods of time. If prolonged use occurs, it can result in serious malnutrition, and even weight gain.
