Overtime
our body accumulates toxins, which can have a negative effect on our
heath. Cleansing is an alternative medicine approach, which follows a
specific dietary plan in order to detoxify our bodies. Not only can
cleansing clear toxins out of the body, leaving you feel refreshed,
they can also help you lose a bit of weight and enhance your skins
complexion.
There
are several different types of cleanses out there, some which targeting
specific areas of the body (liver, kidney, colon or parasites) and
others more general and all encompassing like the master cleanse.
The Master Cleanse
is probably the most well known cleanse. To complete this program,
drink six to twelve glasses of the Lemonade mixture in replacement of
food a day. The mixture is a combination of fresh lemon juice, maple
syrup, cayenne pepper and water. Since your body requires the
nourishment that comes from food, you should not stay on this cleanse
longer than 10 days. And remember that after completing the cleanse you
will have to reintroduce your stomach to solid foods.
Probably the most popular of cleanses that target specific organs is the colon cleanse.
It is supposed to help with the removal of toxins and feces from the
colon and intestinal tract. It requires either colon hydrotherapy or an
oral cleansing regime using supplements and is therefore a more intense
form of cleansing.
There
are generally mixed opinions over the effectiveness of cleansing, where
those in the medical community tend to see it as a useless practice.
Those who support it however, promise that detoxing will allow you to
have more energy and stamina. You can also lose weight, have clearer
skin, and notice benefits to your overall health.
With these possible benefits of detoxifying your body, will you be trying out a cleanse?
