What Is It, And Does It Work?
In a recent interview, Lady Gaga revealed her secret to staying in such great shape is by following The Drunk Diet. So what is the Drunk Diet, and is it really going to give dieters a Lady Gaga type body?
Luc
Carl is releasing a book this spring entitled “The Drunk Diet”, which
is his memoir recounting his journey to get back in shape and lose
40lbs… without giving up alcohol.
Carl
continued his rock and roll lifestyle as a hard drinking partier,
setting out to prove countless diets wrongs - that you can lose weight
while continuing to drink heavily. Is that a good thing? Hmm... probably not. But the fact that a bona fide drunkerd has turned a common dieting belief square on its head is kind of interesting.
The basic premise of the diet is
there is no “don’t do that” list. Instead, dieters can drink all they
want, and they just have to make sure to get to the gym - even if they are too hung over.
Although
the diet sounds like a dream, and Lady Gaga does have a rocking body,
it is important to remember that alcohol has no nutritional value and
has upwards of 100 calories per drink.
So if you are drinking like a
rock star by having several drinks a day, you are consuming the
majority of your recommended daily intake of calories just from booze alone.
Evidently the diet has a few kinks in it, not to mention the health
risks involved in excessive drinking.
That
being said, The Drunk Diet seems to be more of a fad diet or a
publicity stunt. Because with alcohol, like sugar, carbs, and let’s
face it, everything delicious, it needs to be consumed in moderation.
Therefore dieters can learn one thing from The Drunk Diet, making sure
to exercise without making excuses.
However, you should probably forget
the rest and work towards more nutritious consumption habits, and leave the drinking to Luc and Gaga.
