Top de-stress food fixes

altYep, we know - sometimes a long day at work can you leave you feeling like your whole body is exploding out of your eye sockets. But at the end of the day, it's all too common to come home and think of activities you can partake in to wind down before bed. Why not eat something instead?

Like a warm cup of herbal tea, certain foods are known to help your body feel calm and relaxed. So whenever you're done with dessert, add a de-stress course to your menu. And no, this doesn't require you to binge on ice cream or chocolate. Healthy food, like broccoli for example, has nutrients that reduce stress (folic acid, in this particular case). And carbs? Absolutely, as long as they're of the complex variety - carbs raise serotonin levels, which makes you feel good. For a super dose of happy, go after some omega-3s (we guarantee you that wild Alaskan salmon is as good for you as it tastes).
