Healthy snack foods for the office

altIt can be difficult to make it through a day at the office if you don't have anything to munch on. Replying to emails on an empty stomach is harder than it sounds, but if you don't come prepared, you'll wind up heading to the vending machine and eating a bunch of unhealthy potato chips to satisfy that midday craving. Instead of snacking on donuts and candy, pack these healthy munchies so you can prevent your stomach from rumbling loudly in that afternoon business meeting.

Instead of satisfying your cravings for potato chips, pick a healthy alternative that'll give you the same crunch. Wasabi peas are a spicy, flavorful option, while peanuts, almonds and other nuts offer a satisfying and filling texture. If you crave something salty, try sweet potato chips or baked chips instead of the traditional kind.


Fresh fruit is an excellent summer option for snacking mid-day. Apples, pears, peaches and berries are all excellent choices, so pick some up at the market on your way to the office for the freshest afternoon treat possible.

Remember, it's fine to indulge in junk food every once in a while. But when you can replace your unhealthy snack foods with healthy munchies, you'll find that you feel better, look better and have more energy to get yourself through the day!
