We're Celebrating Suds from Scotland, Bison Vodka from Poland, Sexy Vodka from Russia and Vino from Portugal!

We love this unique honey-hued ale aged 30 days in hand selected oak barrels. The 77-day process produces a distinct taste, and offers culinary aromas of vanilla and toffee, hints of citrus, with a malty, lightly oaked palate.

But beware ladies, this is a strong beer (6.6%) with HUGE flavour it tastes like Caffrey's that has had an ambitious bartender drop a shot of Glenlivet into it. The single malt essence comes through in a big way for me that means you can't be quaffing this all night. Good excuse to pair this with fish and chips. Seriously. And we love it with chocolate apres ski, in front of the fireplace. Beautiful, huge flavours (I get the single malt as well as honey) and a lovely velvety mouth feel. Best of all? Not a lot of carbonation. Unless you've been under a rock, you know you're not supposed to do bubbles. Except for champagne. Available through many LCBO locations in Ontario.

Be Bold With The Bison

Zubrowka is the perfect celebratory spirit for the young stylish professional as well as the vodka connoisseur who's looking to be enticed by authentic vodka. This revolutionary product is not your typical flavored vodka, rather a vodka rich in flavor.

For centuries in eastern Poland, massive buffalo have roamed the lush and fertile fields that are full of rich flowers and Zubrowka or Bison Grass, an herb steeped in intrigue, mystique and romanticism. High Society would celebrate hunting successes with a special vodka flavored with Bison Grass, in belief this would yield grand power, increase stature and youthfulness which centuries later had been banned from American shores.

Distillers and chemists have been able to extract the essence from the Bison Grass, allowing vodka enthusiasts and cocktail aficionados to be captivated with this new aromatic vodka with a burst of freshness, bouquet of flavor on the pallet and silky smooth finish.

Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka marries the nobility of old-world Eastern European authenticity with 21st century western style, mystique and romanticism. Mixologists and cocktail fanatics will be full of confidence, swagger, and passion as they mix up and romance there significant other with this seductive new addition in the vodka category.

It's What They Drink on Entourage, Baby!

Calling all Booze Hounds! When most people think of Russian liquor, vodka is the first thing that comes to mind. And Russian Standard is Russia's number one selling vodka brand. It is produced in St. Petersburg, Russia in a top-notch distillery. This vodka is made from choice wheat grain and is charcoal filtered two times for extreme clarity. Russian Standard gets it's name by conforming to the standard formula for vodka production established in 1894 for Russia's Czars, and the bottle even has Mendeleev's signature depicted on the bottom of the bottle. The bottle's shape is inspired by the 200-ton bell commissioned by Tsarina Anna I that stands at the foot of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in Moscow.

The purity of Russian Standard vodka is extraordinary, and it really does embody a good, traditional vodka taste. And the best part? It doesn't burn the esophagus on the way down. The aftertaste lingers a bit more than you may expect from vodka, but it is a warm, pleasant one.

And for Valentine's Day, We Love...

Chocolate, jewelry and flowers are the trademark Valentine Day gifts given by modern-day Romeos as a declaration of love to their Juliets. Break the mould this year and enjoy a bottle of Portuguese wine on Valentine's Day.

Known for being versatile and food friendly, Portuguese wines are a great gift to bring over to dinner or a fabulous choice
if celebrating at a restaurant. Reds and whites pair well with everything from appetizers such as oysters to mains such as meat or fish. They could even be savoured at the end of a meal with Valentine's Day chocolates.

Portuguese wine is known for its fine heritage, superior taste and wallet-friendly prices. Purchasing a bottle of wine can be an inexpensive way to set the mood.

Suggestions include a delicious red from the Douro region of Portugal: Sogrape Reserva Douro 2002 Vintage, Sogrape Vila Regia Douro 2005/2006, Sogrape Reserva Douro. If you prefer whites, try a wine from the Alentejo region: Vinha Do Monte 2006/2007, Roquevale Alentejo 2006, Reguengos Alentejo 2008.
