Cooking For Your Dog

Show Your Pet You Love Him With a Homemade Meal

We love our precious pooches, and we only want to serve them the very best. So, what better way to know exactly what your darling doggie is eating than to make the food yourself?

Making dog food at home is actually quite easy, and pets seem to love it. It is also much healthier for your four-legged friend as the ingredients are fresh, and not processed. In fact, many experts contend that homemade dog food is the best way to ensure that your dog stays in good health. However, we should mention that before you start your pup on homemade food, it's best to consult with his or her veterinarian to make sure that the food is safe for your dog.

One of the best homemade dog foods (and the one my pooch happens to love the most) is Canine Casserole.

What You'll Need:
1 cup boiled poultry, chopped
½ cup cooked brown rice
½ cup boiled mixed vegetables
3 to 4 Tbsp unsalted chicken broth
(Note: Salmon may occasionally be substituted for boiled poultry, with chicken broth omitted.)

What You'll Do:

Stir together and serve at room temperature. You may add a multivitamin/mineral supplement for good measure. Be sure to store unused portions in a covered container in the refrigerator and discard remains after 3 days.
