Recipe for the Ultimate Fruit Smoothie

Smoothies are great for breakfast on the go, and with a variety of ingredients to choose from why not opt for a morning treat that wins the favor of your tastebuds and your diet? If you're a smoothie connoisseur like myself, recipes can start to look a little boring when all you're landing on are the same staple fruits. Adding one or two things to mix it up can make a world of difference in your blender, so here is a recipe for
1 banana
1 generous handful of raspberries
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
1/2 avocado 2 tbsp plain probiotic yogurt
1/2 cup orange juice (or your preference) Crushed ice

The peanut butter and maple syrup may seem like oddities but they are essential to sweeten the mix in contrast to the tart raspberries and rich avocado, plus they provide an excellent source of protein, potassium, and Vitamin A. Avocados act as nutrient boosters as they provide 20 essential nutrients and are substantial in calories (not the bad kind!). Also, the heavy texture gives the smoothie its thick and smooth consistency. You can add protein powder or ground flaxseed for an extra shot of fiber.

Blend these ingredients well and you've got yourself the most delicious and nutritious kick-start to the day!
