A Great Cup Of Coffee Shouldn't Take Too Long
We're all in a hurry to start the day. Frantically running around our apartments to shower, get dressed, apply make-up, check e-mail, make breakfast - all the while trying to find our keys and make sure we have enough mental prep to take on the next nine hours.
If you're like me, caffeine makes all the difference in the world. But it's not always easy to squeeze in a brew when you're pressed for time. Enter French press coffee, stage left.
A simple coffee brewing device used to speed up the process and capture even more rich flavour than your average coffee maker. With the aid of a cylinder glass accompanied by a filter plated plunger, you can have your morning cup of joe hot and ready for sipping in just five minutes.
Once you've chosen what kind of press pot best serves your daily fix, use the following simple steps to make your French press coffee.
1. Boil water.
2. Select your bean - either grind your own coffee beans, or purchase a finely ground roast.
3. Pre-heat French press by filling it with hot water and leaving it until kettle has boiled. This step is optional but is good for maintaining preferred temperature.
4. Empty Press of hot water and add coffee grounds. Two rounded teaspoons should be good for just yourself if you are planning to drink 1-2 cups, but measure according to serving size.
5. Pour just enough boiled water over coffee grounds to wet them and let sit for 30 seconds to expand before pouring the remaining desired amount of water.
6. Place plunger into the press, but let sit for a minute or two and don't press down just yet.
7. Push plunger down slowly.
Enjoy!
