Avoid Being The Drunk Girl At The Party

altHave you ever been at a party where the girls are so drunk they can't stand? They stumble around, falling all over themselves, making passes at every guy they see.

Then, they puke somewhere in plain sight. It's embarrassing to watch. Some girls just don't know their limits with alcohol, others forget. In defense of the drunk party girl, a lot of factors can contribute to over the top behaviour besides drinking to excess.

Dehydration, the amount of food we've eaten that day, exhaustion, and mixing drinks are all common causes of easy intoxication. You can probably think of your own fair share of bad experiences, the fuzzy memories of social gatherings you wish you could forget. Not only is the hangover a nightmare to deal with the next day, but so is having to face the humiliation of your antics with the people who witnessed it. Is there anything more embarrassing than showing up to your office and being death glared all day by your co-workers?

Especially when you sit at your desk and notice a post-it with the number for your local AA. Here's a party tip: If you want to drink but not over do it, keep a steady buzz  going. Choose your poison and stick to it all night. Remember that if after the first few sips of one drink you're not feeling as loose as you'd hoped, it will kick in and there's no need to rush it on your own.

Pace yourself. Enjoy your festivities with alcohol being a fun addition, not the main attraction. Keep a friend close by to be on the watch for you if you don't trust yourself to be restrictive. Make mingling your number one priority and you'll be at the top of the charts for party etiquette!
