Simplicity VS. Sophistication
It
has become one of the greatest battles of all time. With an army of
loyal and passionate people supporting each side. There is a lot to
consider before making the decision, are you team Starbucks or team Tim
Horton’s.
If
you are looking for a reasonably priced coffee, you probably belong to
team Tim Horton’s. Both Starbucks and Tim’s are roughly equal in size;
however they are not equal in price.
Depending
on how fancy the drink you are purchasing at Starbucks is, prices can
reach upwards of five dollars! Five dollars! It’s like that scene in
Pulp Fiction where Mia orders the “Five Dollar Milkshake” and Vincent
is stunned.
Drinks at Tim Horton’s typically stay under two dollars, whereas at Starbucks just a small coffee is $1.89.
On
the other hand, if you are looking for a more elaborate drink, tailored
to your coffee drinking needs (double venti, extra hot, no foam, soy,
sugar free vanilla latte) then you likely fall under team Starbucks.
But if simplicity is what you are going for, Tim Horton’s seems to know how to brew regular coffee with the best of them.
Both
Tim Horton’s and Starbucks are famous for their long lines, so it would
be hard to choose a team based on service. In addition, both locations
typically move their lines quickly, so their efficiency is comparable.
However, many people believe that service at Starbucks is a lot more
friendly and reliable. So, if it is important for you to have a smile
served with your coffee, you are likely team Starbucks.
Finally,
there are food options to consider. Tim Horton’s definitely has
Starbucks beat in terms of variety. They offer an assortment of tasty
lunch and breakfast options, in addition to a number of pastries.
Therefore, if you are looking to get some nibbles with your joe, you
are probably on Team Tim Horton’s.
So
what it comes down to seems to be, are you looking for simplicity or
sophistication? And are you willing to pay for the difference?
