Showdown In The Kitchen, Toronto Style

As part of Winterlicious 2011, Fort York invites you to a workshop and food fight on January 29, 2011.
Held
between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., the afternoon will kick off with an intimate
informative food tour of Fort York, allowing you to gain insight into
the diet in Toronto during the 1800s. Then, you may choose one of two
workshops; Eat Green Through the Seasons – exploring the ecological benefits of eating seasonally, or Growing Food Indoors – highlighting alternative gardening.
Afterwards, Fort York will bring Iron Chef to you, right here in Toronto.
You
will get to watch a chef competition, up-close, between two of the
city’s most acclaimed chefs, c5’s rising star Ted Corrado and Beast
Restaurant’s Scott Vivian.
To
prepare for the Bicentennial Commemoration of the War of 1812, Corrado
and Vivian, will create and prepare recipes using a secret 1812-era
ingredient available in the Town of York at the time.
The winning chef will take home the title of Fort York Food Fight Champion and be the recipient of a $2500 grand prize.
